Is the disagreement of the Murji'ah jurists merely a verbal disagreement?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is the disagreement of the Murji'ah jurists merely a verbal disagreement?

Answer:
The correct view is that it is not merely verbal, even though some of them say it is verbal. Rather, it is a substantive, conceptual disagreement. Because if we say, "Deeds are not part of faith," it follows that if a person dies holding a belief and creed without deeds, he has complete faith. And one with complete faith enters Paradise.
It is well known that one who dies without deeds does not have complete faith. Rather, he is threatened with the Fire for abandoning zakah, abandoning Hajj, and abandoning fasting. Thus, his faith is deficient, his faith is weak, and he is exposed to the threat.
Therefore, the statement of the people of the Sunnah, who are the majority of the jurists, namely the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and their followers, that faith is belief and deeds, which increase and decrease, is contrary to the Murji'ah in all their categories.
