The ruling on asking a righteous man for supplication

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is there any embarrassment in asking a righteous man for supplication?

Answer:
There is nothing wrong with asking a good brother to make supplication for you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Uwais al-Qarani will come to you. He was dutiful to his mother, so whoever among you meets him should ask him for supplication.يقدُم عليكم أُويس القرني، كان بارًّا بأمه، فمَن لقيه منكم فليطلب منه الدعاء
, and it is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said to 'Umar when he intended to perform 'Umrah:
My younger brother, do not forget me in your supplication.لا تنسنا يا أخي من دعائك
Sunan Abi Dawud 1498Da'if (Al-Albani)
. However, one should not persist, nor be a persistent requester; the supplication should be light, without persistence or hardship.
