Ruling on placing verses on the walls of the mosque for admonition

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible to place some Qur'anic verses on the walls of the mosque for remembrance and admonition?

Answer:
We are not aware of any harm in it. The Council of Senior Scholars discussed this in a previous session and held that there is no prohibition in doing so if the intention is for remembrance, admonition, and benefit. However, it is disliked in mosques because mosques were not built for this purpose, and because it distracts the worshippers. Mosques should be free of such things: from engravings and writings, so that the worshippers are not distracted by them.
