How can a reciter balance performing ruqyah for people and seeking knowledge?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
There is a reciter, may Allah reward you, may Allah benefit many of His servants through him, and may Allah guide many from disbelief to Islam through his hands. He studies under two great scholars from among the people of knowledge. If they knew that he recites for people, they might say to him: Do not recite for us. He asks: Should I stop reciting entirely and devote myself to knowledge, or should I combine the two?

Answer:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
There is no harm in invocations so long as there is no polytheism in them.لا بأس بالرُّقَى ما لم تكن شركًا
Sunan Abi Dawud 3886Sahih (Al-Albani)
. So if he wishes to do good to people, may Allah reward him with good. He should do good to people in a manner and through a method that does not prevent him from seeking knowledge at appropriate times. He combines this and that: he seeks knowledge and gains understanding of the religion, and if he gets an opportunity and recites for his Muslim brothers, there is nothing wrong with it. The Prophet recited for the sick man, and the Companions, when they passed by a group of Arabs in the desert whose master had been bitten, recited for him.
Q: He says: The shaykhs criticize me: Why do I make this a habit from 'Asr until 'Isha'?
A: In any case, he should teach them the means, and he must fear Allah and be cautious of the evil of his own self and desires. It may be that greed for this world is driving him. So if his intention is not this world, he should take only a little, and be gentle with people.
Q: He does not look at it at all if it is from the side of this world, but they, glory be to Allah, are strict in this matter?
A: In any case, fear Allah, may Allah guide him. If he is safe regarding himself, that is fine. But if he is not safe regarding himself and fears that his recitation for the sick will lead him to great evil, he should leave it. It may lead him to the issue of women, and it may lead him to greed. So he should study the matter.
Q: So he does not mention anything to them?
A: He does what he sees to be in the interest, even if he does not teach them.
