Explanation of the saying of Ibn Malik (may Allah have mercy on him): "Nayyimu wa bayyisu wa ma jara majrahumā" (Nayyimu and Bayyisu and what follows their course).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : These are two fixed verbal nouns (af'al jamid). The first is intended for praise, and the second for blame. Nayyimu is for praise, and Bayyisu is for blame. They are two verbs of creation (af'al insha'), not verbs of statement (af'al khabar). They are verbs of creation because you create praise when you say, "Nayyimu al-rajulu Zayd" (What a good man Zayd is), and you create blame when you say, "Bayyisu al-rajulu Zayd" (What a bad man Zayd is). His statement, "and what follows their course," refers to Hubdha for praise and La Hubdha for blame.
