Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: Shaykh! It says in the commentary, and it says it multiple times: “And Ibn al-Nazzam mentioned”, who is this Ibn al-Nazzam?

The Shaykh : Al-Nazzam is the father of Ibn Malik. I do not know, by Allah, what his name is. His name is either Muhammad or 'Abd Allah.
The student: Or Asad al-Din.

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student: There is one named Asad al-Din.

The Shaykh : Asad? That is a title!
The student: Is his father’s name Muhammad?!

The Shaykh : Yes, it is possible his name is Muhammad. 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Bakr; his father is 'Abd Allah, (may Allah have mercy on him).
