The Shaykh : By the consensus of the scholars of hadith, there is no sound hadith regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting the Basmala aloud. One of the scholars of hadith, either al-Daraqutni or al-Khatib—I am uncertain now, but certainly one of them—authored a treatise in which he collected all the hadiths concerning the recitation of the Basmala aloud
Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and Abu Bakr and 'Umar أن النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - وأبا بكر وعمر كانوا يسرُّون بالبسملة
Sahih Muslim 1310a
