The ruling on the claim that it is obligatory for a woman to kiss her husband's hand and head

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Is it obligatory for a wife to kiss her husband's hand and head every morning and evening?
Answer: We do not know of any basis for this. If she does it, there is no blame on her, but we do not know... It is not obligatory, nor is it prescribed. Rather, she should greet him with the customary salam, as a man greets his household and a woman greets her husband. This is a known practice between spouses. She should do with her husband what people do, such as kissing, showing affection, and playfulness. As for it being obligatory for her to kiss his hand, his head, or his foot, there is no basis for that. Rather, she should do with him what is customary and what he likes from her, provided there is no religious objection to it. If he sees that she kisses his hand, or his knee, or his head, and she does so, there is nothing wrong with it. Yes.
The presenter: What if he returns from a journey, or if it is during the festivals?
The Shaykh: All of this is permissible, but it is not obligatory. She should only do what she sees brings him joy, or pleases him, or fosters complete affection and good companionship between them. There is no blame in that.
