The third and final question in the letter from our brother Shaykh Muhammad Bulayya from Ayn al-Khudra in Algiers, the capital, says: Is this hadith authentic? If it is authentic, who is its narrator? "The one who harms his neighbor, the one who plays the strings, and the men and women who dance are in the Fire." Please inform us, may Allah reward you?
Answer: I do not know of any source for this hadith. I do not know of any source for this hadith with this wording. However, it has a meaning; it has meanings. The neighbor has a great status. The neighbor has a right to be honored and treated with kindness, as Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Nisa: 36]. So Allah commanded kindness to the near relative and the non-relative.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1942Sahih (Darussalam), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 47a He said: .
(The one who harms his neighbor...) Repeat it.
The presenter: "The one who harms his neighbor, the one who plays the strings, and the men and women who dance are in the Fire."
The Shaykh: Likewise, the one who plays the strings. It has been mentioned previously that what happens of playing the strings in songs and entertainment contains great evil, and that it diverts from the path of Allah, sickens the hearts and hardens them, and bequeaths to them hypocrisy.
So the men and women who dance, if they are in the presence of men and the presence of women... the mixed and intermingled gathering, its evil is great and its corruption is major. So do not be surprised that they are threatened with the Fire for what follows from a man dancing among women, and a woman dancing among men who are not her mahrams and not her women, of great evil.
So the point is that dancing which lacks the modesty regarding what Allah has forbidden, such as dancing in front of foreign men, or mixed with men and women, leads to major corruption and to the occurrence of lewd acts. And so, the men who dance among women so that they may fall in love with them and so that there may be corruption between them, all of this has great evil.
Dancing for a woman is only in the gathering of women. Dancing is among women at the wedding. This is the place for a woman to dance, among women, not among men and not in every place, but among women at weddings. There is no harm in it if there is no looking by men.
And the man is not one of those who dance, and dancing is not his affair, and he should not dance, and it is not permissible for him to dance. Rather, he plays the games that help him in training for jihad, the games of the mujahideen and the trainees. It is not his affair to dance, but rather he plays and trains with weapons, and the charge and retreat, so that he may benefit himself and benefit the Muslims, and that he may participate in jihad and the protection of the religion and the protection of the homelands and the wealth. This is what is required of the man.
As for the dancing which is the dancing of the people of desires and the dancing of women, it is not the affair of men, but their affair is above that. The affair of men is training and working in what makes them suitable for jihad and carrying weapons of all kinds, and staying away from the problems of women and contact with women. And Allah is the One to be sought for help. Yes.

Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Jibril – may the Salawat of Allah be upon him – continued to recommend me about (treating) the neighbors so (kindly and politely), that I thought he would order me to make them heirs.
ما زال جبريل يوصيني بالجار حتى ظننت أنه سيورثهhe who believes in Allah and the Last Day should treat his neighbour with kindness
من كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فليكرم جارهlet him not harm his neighbor
فلا يؤذي جاره(The one who harms his neighbor...) Repeat it.
