Marrying a barren woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 11540 )
Q: I am a young man and I want to get married, but I do not want children. Is it permissible for me to marry a barren woman (one who does not bear children - offspring -) even if I am well-off? Please inform me, and I hope you will take this matter seriously, with my best wishes for sound opinion and wisdom.
A: Islam encourages marriage and urges it, as well as increasing offspring and the number of the Muslim community, because of the preservation of the human species
and the continuation of righteous descendants through whom the deeds of the Muslim continue, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Marry women who are fertile and loving, for I will be boasting with you before the nations on the Day of Resurrection.تزوجوا الولود الودود فإني مكاثر بكم الأمم يوم القيامة
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 10:869
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
