Means of Knowing That a Servant Loves Allah and His Messenger
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
How does a person know, or how does one know, that he loves Allah and His Messenger with complete love?
Answer: This is known by his following of the Shari'ah, his exalting of the Shari'ah, his adherence to the limits of Allah, and his abandoning of the sins of Allah. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Imran: 31], and He said: [Al-Ma'idah: 54]. So the one who truly loves Allah obeys His commands and refrains from His prohibitions, hastens to what pleases Him, and stands by His limits. This is the true lover. As for the one who engages in sins, this is evidence of the deficiency of his love for Allah. The poet says:
You disobey Allah while you claim to love Him
This, by my life, is a marvel in reasoning
If your love were true, you would have obeyed Him
Indeed, the lover is obedient to the one he loves
So the one who truly loves Allah fulfills His obligations, refrains from His prohibitions, and stands by His limits. He hopes for His bounty and His goodness, and fears His anger and His retribution, Blessed and Exalted is He. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.

Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins
Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic
You disobey Allah while you claim to love Him
