The ruling on praying in a mosque that is misaligned with the qiblah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This is a message from the listener Muhammad Sharif from the Eastern Province, Al-Khobar. He says in his message: We have two mosques at our workplace that were built by the employees, and both mosques are misaligned with the qiblah. One of them has an extension on the left side of the mihrab, such that those who line up on the left side pray in rows of twenty, while those who line up on the right side pray in rows of only ten. The brothers all know about the misalignment of the two mosques with the qiblah, as does the one who leads us in prayer. What is the ruling on praying in these mosques?
Answer: If the misalignment is slight and the direction is the direction of the qiblah, it does not harm. Slight misalignment is excused according to the scholars, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
What is between the east and the west is Qiblah.ما بين المشرق والمغرب قبلة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 342Sahih (Darussalam)
He said this regarding the people of Madinah and their like. So it is the same in the East; it is said that between the South and the North is the qiblah, and so it is in the West; it is said that between the South and the North is the qiblah. The point is that slight misalignment, the slight deviation that does not take it out of the direction, is excused.
As for if it is misaligned toward the other direction, that is what is not excused. Slight misalignment is excused. The imam being in the center is the sunnah (recommended practice). The imam being... in the center is the sunnah. So if the misalignment is not centered, the prescribed (mashru') thing is for them to center him and move him to the center of the mosque, not to a side further from the center, so that the congregation is equidistant from him. If the row is thirty, there would be fifteen on one side of him and fifteen on the other side, centered. This is the sunnah and this is what is prescribed. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
