The questioner : This is the statement of Malik. Another route was narrated by 'Abd al-Razzaq in his Musannaf. He said: Sufyan al-Thawri informed us from Yunus ibn Khabbab from Mujahid from al-Faqid, who was the one who was lost, saying: I entered the valley.

The Shaykh : This Yunus ibn Khabbab is weak.

The questioner : Weak.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Fine, another route.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : 'Abd al-Razzaq also said: Ma'mar informed us from Thabit al-Bunani from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, who said: A woman lost her husband and remained for four years. She mentioned her case to 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, so he ordered her to wait four years from the time she brought her case to him; if her husband came, [she would wait], otherwise she would marry. She married after the four years had passed, and no mention was made of him. Then her husband came later, and it was said to him: Your wife married after you by the order of 'Umar. He went to 'Umar and said to him: Return to me the one who seized my family and separated me from them... 'Umar asked him about it and said: Who are you? He said: I am so-and-so. The jinn took me, and I was traveling in the land... I found that my wife had married. They claim that you ordered her to do so. 'Umar said to him: If you wish, we will return your wife to you, and if you wish, we will marry you to someone else. He said: No, marry me to someone else. Then 'Umar kept asking him about the jinn, and he was informing him. End of quote.

The Shaykh : Where did you find this?

The questioner : This is in Nasb al-Ra'yah.

The Shaykh : Fine, refer to my book Irwa' al-Ghalil.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Because the narrators in this second chain are all trustworthy.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : But it requires research into whether 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla heard the story from 'Umar ibn al-Khattab or not.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : So refer to Irwa'.

The questioner : If Allah wills.

The Shaykh : If Allah wills.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : Welcome.

The questioner : I entrust you to Allah.

The Shaykh: Peace be upon you.

The questioner: And upon you peace.

The questioner : How are you, my uncle?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, I am well...
