Ruling on Reciting the Short Surahs in Tarawih and Not Completing the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
He also asks in his question: Some imams recite the short surahs and restrict themselves to that in the tarawih prayer, and they do not complete the Qur'an at all. What is the ruling on this practice?
Answer: The matter is broad in this regard, and praise be to Allah. Everyone recites what Allah has made easy for them, whether they recite the entire Qur'an, or recite from the short surahs of al-Mufassal, or recite some of the surahs they have memorized; there is no blame in that. However, it is better to recite the entire Qur'an if it is facilitated, even from the mushaf. One places a chair beside them and reads from the mushaf, and when they want to bow or prostrate, they place it on the chair, and when they stand, they read. Dhikwan, the freed slave of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), used to lead her in prayer in Ramadan from the mushaf.
And the correct view is that there is no blame in that. This is the correct view: that there is no blame in reading from the mushaf. Even if one leaves that and leads them with a part of Juz 'Amma or something else, there is no blame in that. The matter is broad in this regard. It is not obligatory to complete the Qur'an. If one leads them with part of the Qur'an throughout Ramadan, there is no harm in that, whether it is from the short surahs of al-Mufassal or the long ones. But it is better, if it is facilitated for them, to complete the Qur'an with them, as that is better. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
