The Difference Between Shirk and Kufr

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner asks: What is the difference between shirk (associating partners with Allah) and kufr (disbelief)?

Answer:
Every shirk is called kufr, every shirk; calling upon other than Allah, seeking aid from other than Allah, and directing worship to other than Allah are called shirk, and they are also called kufr. And kufr may also be called shirk, such as one who denies the obligation of prayer, or says: “Zina is lawful.” He is called a disbeliever, and he is called one who associates partners with Allah. However, what is generally called kufr is the denial of an obligatory duty, or the denial of a forbidden act. And what is generally called shirk is calling upon other than Allah, seeking aid from other than Allah, or making a vow to other than Allah. Otherwise, every shirk is called kufr, and every major shirk is called shirk. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
