Question:
Your Eminence, the experience has an impact. We live in this blessing in Riyadh, and all praise is due to Allah, and you attend continuously. How do you envision this experience for the Muslim brothers so that they can benefit from it?
Answer:
There is no doubt that the circles of knowledge hold a great status. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do this, sitting with his companions to teach them and remind them from time to time, and they would form circles around him and gather . Likewise, the Companions after him used to employ these circles for knowledge and teaching, and so have the scholars up to our present time.
The benefit from these circles is immense. The student of knowledge attends and listens, and the general public attend and listen. The student of knowledge attends with his book containing the lesson, so that he may benefit and write down some of the benefits. For this reason, the benefit is great, for if he listens and writes down what he might miss were it not for writing, this is a good deed. Likewise, the general public attend and benefit, and they ask about what is difficult for them. All of this is what Allah loves. In the hadith, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3510Da’if (Darussalam) They said: O Messenger of Allah, and what are the gardens of Paradise? He said: And in the two Sahihs, it is narrated that he (may Allah’s prayer and peace be upon him) was one day in the mosque, with his Companions around him reminding them (may Allah’s prayer and peace be upon him). Three men entered while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was teaching the people and the circle was around him. One of them came and entered the circle, the second sat behind the circle, and the third left. When the Prophet finished his discourse (may Allah’s prayer and peace be upon him), he said: They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said: And he is the one who entered the circle Sahih Muslim 2176a.
The presenter: The one who was shy, who remained in...
The Shaykh: The one behind the circle, who did not push in, nor enter the circle,Sahih al-Bukhari 474 And this is a severe warning, indicating the need to be cautious of turning away from circles of knowledge and from seeking knowledge.
And in the two Sahihs, from Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (may Allah’s prayer and peace be upon him), that he said:Sahih Muslim 1037a And this is a great hadith, indicating that among the signs of happiness, and that Allah intends good for a servant, is that he understands the religion and gains insight into the religion. It also indicates that among the signs of destruction and lack of good is that one does not understand the religion, and turns away, and is negligent.
And in Sahih Muslim, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said:Sahih Muslim 2699a So seeking knowledge is among the best of the means of drawing near to Allah, and among the most important of matters. So my advice to every Muslim, and to every Muslim woman, is to be diligent in understanding the religion, and in learning, and in seeking knowledge by every means. And among that is listening to this program: Nur 'ala al-Darb. Listening to it is seeking knowledge and caring for knowledge. It is a beneficial program that reaches you while you are on your bed, in your sitting place, and in your car. So my advice to every Muslim and every Muslim woman is to care for this program in order to benefit from it.
And likewise, my advice to everyone is to ask the people of knowledge about what is difficult, and not to be shy, by telegram, by telephone, by correspondence, or by face-to-face conversation if the student of knowledge is nearby. And it is not permissible for anyone to remain silent about ignorance, neither a man nor a woman. It is obligatory to ask about what is difficult. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Anbiya: 7] And it is narrated from him (may Allah’s prayer and peace be upon him) that he said to a group who issued rulings without knowledge: Sunan al-Bayhaqi 1:995.
So the advice, which I repeat: be diligent in seeking knowledge, and in understanding the religion, by way of correspondence, by way of telephone, by way of listening to this program in every place, by way of attending circles of knowledge in the mosques, and so on. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He benefit us with your knowledge.

Shall I inform you of the matter of the three?
As for one of them, he sought shelter, so Allah gave him shelter
أما أحدهم فآوى، فآواه اللهand the second one felt shy and Allah showed kindness to has shyness (and so he was accommodated in that meeting), and the last one reverted and Allah turned away His attention from him.
The presenter: The one who was shy, who remained in...
The Shaykh: The one behind the circle, who did not push in, nor enter the circle,
while the third turned his face from Allah, and went away, so Allah turned His face from him likewise.
And in the two Sahihs, from Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (may Allah’s prayer and peace be upon him), that he said:
He upon whom Allah intends to bestow goodness, He confers upon him an insight in religion
And in Sahih Muslim, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said:
he who treads the path in search of knowledge, Allah would make that path easy, leading to Paradise for him
And likewise, my advice to everyone is to ask the people of knowledge about what is difficult, and not to be shy, by telegram, by telephone, by correspondence, or by face-to-face conversation if the student of knowledge is nearby. So ask the people of the message if you do not know.
Why did they not ask when they did not know? Indeed, the cure for ignorance is asking.
So the advice, which I repeat: be diligent in seeking knowledge, and in understanding the religion, by way of correspondence, by way of telephone, by way of listening to this program in every place, by way of attending circles of knowledge in the mosques, and so on.
