If a man enters the mosque and finds a circle of knowledge, should he pray the greeting of the mosque or sit in the circle?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh, if a person enters the mosque and sees a circle of knowledge, is it permissible for him to listen to this circle, for example a circle of knowledge for the sake of benefiting, or should he pray the greeting of the mosque?

The Shaykh : No, he should pray the greeting of the mosque, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the one who enters while the people are being addressed, and the sermon is one of the methods of teaching, to pray two rak'ahs before he sits down.

The questioner : Okay, some people, O Shaykh, say, and is this correct, for example?
They say: If one of you enters the mosque, he compensates for it by saying Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, and then sits.

The Shaykh : It is not correct.

The questioner : It is not correct.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
