Q 5: Whatis the ruling on leaving some of the hair on the head longer than the rest (tuwalit)? ؟
A 5:Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions...After that:Abu Dawudnarratedfrom'Abdullah ibn 'Umar(may Allah be pleased with him), and it is said in (Sharh al-Iqna'): Shaving specific spots
of the sides of the head, or shaving the middle and leaving the sides, as most of the Christians do, or shaving the sides and leaving the middle, as many of the foolish do, or shaving the front and leaving the back. And Ahmad was asked about shaving the nape, and he said: 'It is the practice of the Zoroastrians, and whoever imitates a people is one of them.' And from this it is known that it is not permissible to leave some of the hair on the head longer than the rest. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade qaza' and said: "Shave it all, or leave it all."
أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن القزع، وقال: احلقه كله، أو دعه كلهof the sides of the head, or shaving the middle and leaving the sides, as most of the Christians do, or shaving the sides and leaving the middle, as many of the foolish do, or shaving the front and leaving the back.
