The Duration of the Creation of the Heavens and the Earth

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a questioner for the program who sent a set of questions. In this question, he says: Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) created the heavens and the earth in six days, and this has been mentioned in the Noble Qur'an. And Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said in Surat Fussilat:
Say, "Do you indeed disbelieve in He who created the earth in two daysقُلْ أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَكْفُرُونَ بِالَّذِي خَلَقَ الأَرْضَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ
[Fussilat:9] And in His saying, the Exalted:
And He appointed them as seven heavens in two days
[Fussilat:12], what is the intended meaning in these two verses?
May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The creation of the heavens and the earth, all of it, took place in six days, including what is between them. So He began by creating the earth in two days, then He rose to the sky and created the sky in two days, then He spread out the earth in four days:
And the earth after that He spread it out
He brought forth from it its water and its pasture [An-Nazi'at:30-31],
in four days without distinction - for [the information] of those who ask.
[Fussilat:10] So the earth was created in two days, and its spreading out was in four days; He spread it out after its creation.
He spread it out ۝دَحَاهَا ۝
He brought forth from it its water and its pasture ۝ And He set firm the mountains [An-Nazi'at:30-32] So these are six days: the heavens and the earth in six days. The foundation of the sky was in two days, and the earth in two days, and the spreading out of the earth in four days, . So Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) spread it out, meaning:
He extracted from it its water and its pasture,
[An-Nazi'at:31] So He created it and spread it out in four days, and the sky in two days, making a total of six days. For this reason, He said afterwards:
And He completed them as seven heavens within two days and inspired in each heaven its command
[Fussilat:12] Yes, Allah is the Greatest.

The presenter: Allah is the Greatest. May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.
