Guidance on the Book of the Soul by Ibn al-Qayyim

The questioner asks His Eminence the Shaykh about the Book of the Soul by Ibn al-Qayyim?

Answer:
It is a beneficial book of great benefit, containing much knowledge and useful issues. It includes some weaker positions; a student of knowledge, upon reading it, will be able to distinguish the stronger position from the weaker one. However, it is a very beneficial book in its field, containing much knowledge and many investigations that a student of knowledge can benefit from. But not everything in the book is correct, because every scholar makes mistakes and hits the mark, and from every scholar’s words, some are taken and some are left, except the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). There are some matters he mentioned that may not be followed, and likewise, his preference for some issues may not be followed.and may Allah have mercy on him, but this requires knowledge.
So the one who reviews the book and reads it, if he has knowledge and insight, will understand what is supported by evidence and what is not supported by evidence. Yes.
