Ruling on the 'Umrah of one who enters the state of ihram from other than the miqat

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The following message was received by the program from al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, Wadi al-Qura, and its sender is the listener 'Abd al-Ma'iz 'Abd al-Baqi al-'Asal. He has a number of questions, and in one of them he says:
My wife and I went to perform 'Umrah in a car that was heading from our place in a village belonging to al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, which is ninety kilometers from Rabigh, from the miqat, heading to Jeddah via Rabigh, and not originally heading to Makkah al-Mukarramah. When we reached the miqat in Rabigh, the driver told us: "Enter the state of ihram from Jeddah instead of entering it from the miqat, and you will enter Jeddah with us." So we did so, and we did not enter the state of ihram from the miqat.

The Shaykh: Repeat, repeat.

The presenter: He says: My wife and I went to perform 'Umrah in a car that was heading from our place in a village belonging to al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, which is ninety kilometers from Rabigh, from the miqat, heading to Jeddah via Rabigh, and not originally heading to Makkah al-Mukarramah. When we reached the miqat in Rabigh, the driver told us: "Enter the state of ihram from Jeddah instead of entering it from the miqat, and you will enter Jeddah with us." So we did so, and we did not enter the state of ihram from the miqat, but entered it from Jeddah, and at the same time we went to Makkah and performed 'Umrah. What is the validity of the 'Umrah and the validity of the ihram?
Please inform us. May Allah reward you with every good.

Answer:
The ihram is valid, and the 'Umrah is valid, but it is incomplete; because you left the obligatory act, which is entering the state of ihram from the miqat. So you must offer a sacrificial animal, one for each of you, to be slaughtered in Makkah for the poor, like the 'Id sacrifice. That is, a sacrificial animal that is sufficient for the 'Id sacrifice: a one-year-old sheep, or a two-year-old goat, or one-seventh of a camel, or one-seventh of a cow, for leaving the miqat.
As for the 'Umrah, it is valid, praise be to Allah, and the ihram is valid, but there is a deficiency in it; it is an incomplete 'Umrah due to neglecting the obligatory act, which is entering the state of ihram from the miqat. May Allah accept from everyone.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
