What is required of a woman who vowed to fast, but it is difficult for her?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was received by the program from al-Hudaydah in the Yemen Arab Republic, sent by the listener 'Abd al-'Aziz Muhammad Qasim al-Qadisi. He asks and says: My mother made a vow to fast two days of every month for Allah if my brother would be guided to the path of truth and correctness. Allah has guided my brother to the path of correctness, and my mother has begun fasting what is due from her vow. However, the problem is that my mother cannot fast except with hardship, because she constantly complains of head pain and headaches. She now wants to ask: Is it permissible for her to expiate her vow with the expiation for an oath?
And if the answer is yes, is it permissible for her to give money instead of feeding or clothing?
Please inform us. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
She must fast if she is able, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him, and whoever vows to disobey Allah, let him not disobey Him.من نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعه، ومن نذر أن يعصي الله فلا يعصه
Sunan Ibn Majah 2126Sahih (Darussalam)
So she must fast as long as she is able, based on this authentic hadith. She must also avoid making vows in the future; do not make vows. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making vows and said:
Do not make vows, for a vow does not avert anything from the decree of Allah.لا تنذروا، فإن النذر لا يرد من قدر الله شيئًا
Sahih Ibn Hibban 21:2
But when a person vows to do an act of obedience, he must fulfill it. If she is unable to fast the day of every month, she delays it according to her capacity and fasts it afterwards, just as one delays Ramadan if a person is unable due to illness, then makes it up. This is the most apparent from the Sunnah, because Allah the Exalted said:
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[Surat al-Taghabun: 16].
So if she is afflicted with illness in some months and is unable, she makes up the two days in the next month, and praise be to Allah. If she grows old and her age advances, and she is unable, she feeds a poor person for the two days, a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of barley or rice from every month for the two days, just as one who is unable to fast Ramadan due to old age feeds a poor person for every day. So this woman who made the vow, if she is unable, feeds a poor person for every day after her age has advanced.
As for an occasional illness, she may break her fast when the occasional illness occurs, and then when she recovers and is healed, she makes it up in the next month. Yes.
