Books that forbid innovations; it is recommended to read them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He asks of your eminence—may Allah reward you with good—to guide him to some books that forbid innovations and swearing by the awliya (close friends of Allah), and whether there are any good innovations.

Answer:
Yes, we guide you to the book Fath al-Mujid, and the book al-Tawhid, the book al-Tawhid by the Shaykh: Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab, and Fath al-Mujid by his grandson the Shaykh: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Hasan, and al-Bida' wa al-Nahy 'Anha by the Shaykh Ibn Wadha' (may Allah have mercy on him), and al-I'tisam by al-Shatibi (may Allah have mercy on him). All of these contain warnings against innovations.
And it is sufficient to quote the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
The best of the speech is embodied in the Book of Allah, and the best of the guidance is the guidance given by Muhammad. And the most evil affairs are their innovations; and every innovation is error.خير الكلام كلام الله، وخير الهدي هدي محمد ﷺ، وشر الأمور محدثاتها، وكل بدعة ضلالة
Sahih Muslim 867a
Whatever people have introduced into the religion in the form of worship that Allah has not prescribed, avoid it and beware of it. But you should engage with the books we mentioned and other well-known books that clarify the Sunnah and clarify innovation. And if something is unclear to you, ask the people of knowledge from the people of the Sunnah and the community.

The presenter: May Allah reward you, Your Eminence.
