Ruling on executing the bequest of one who bequeathed a sacrifice for himself and his parents

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a woman calling the program who sent a set of questions, saying: Your Eminence, a man passed away and bequeathed in his will that a sacrifice be offered for his parents, and the children refused, claiming that it is a religious innovation. Please guide us in light of this question: what is the ruling on this? May Allah reward you.

Answer:
It is obligatory to execute the bequest. If he bequeathed it for his parents, the bequest is executed: the sacrificial animal is slaughtered for him and for his parents, as he bequeathed, saying: for him and for his parents, for so-and-so and his parents.
The sacrifice is not a religious innovation for the father or for the mother; rather, it is prescribed with the intention of charity. The claim that it is a religious innovation is an error, said by some people in error. Sacrifices are a recommended practice for both the living and the dead. It is obligatory to execute the bequest for the bequeather and his parents. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you, O Shaykh.
