Slaughter of the 'Id sacrifice on behalf of a deceased person who did not leave a bequest

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 21367 )
Q3: My grandmother, my father's mother, passed away and left behind some sheep. Since her death, my father has been slaughtering an 'Id sacrifice on her behalf every year without a bequest from her. What is the ruling on this action? Is there a specific time for the sacrifice, before or after my father's own sacrifice? Please inform us. May Allah reward you with good.
A3: If the 'Id sacrifice is on behalf of your father's mother based on a bequest from her, it is obligatory to carry out her bequest from what she bequeathed. If it is a voluntary act by your father from the wealth of his mother that she left behind, then the consent of all the heirs is required. If a Muslim wishes to slaughter a sacrifice for himself and a sacrifice for another person, he should start with his own sacrifice. The 'Id sacrifice on behalf of a deceased person is prescribed, whether it is based on a bequest or without a bequest, because it falls under the category of voluntary charity. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
