What is obligatory upon one who breaks his fast in Ramadan without an excuse?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The listener Abu Jum'ah from Riyadh sent a message containing a collection of questions. In one of them, he says: I intentionally broke my fast for several days of last Ramadan without an excuse, as I ate and drank. But now that Allah has guided me and I have repented to Allah , what is obligatory for me regarding what I did?

The Shaykh: Repeat it, may Allah help us.

The presenter: I intentionally broke my fast for several days of last Ramadan without an excuse, by eating and drinking. But now that Allah has guided me and I have repented to Allah , is there an expiation for this, as I am confused about this matter?

Answer:
You must repent to Allah, feel remorse, and make up the days you broke your fast. There is nothing required of you beyond that. However, if these days were from a previous Ramadan and you have not made them up until now, then in addition to that, you must feed a poor person for each day, half a sa' of dates or other staple food of the country, in addition to making up the fasts, along with repentance to Allah . You must repent to Allah and feel remorse, you must make up the days you left, and you must feed a poor person for each day. This is what is obligatory for you, because breaking the fast without an excuse is a reprehensible and forbidden matter. This is if your breaking of the fast was without intercourse. But if some of it was with intercourse, then you must perform the expiation, make up the day, repent, and perform the expiation for intercourse in Ramadan, which is freeing a believing slave. If you are unable to do so, you must fast for two consecutive months. If you are unable to do that, you must feed sixty poor people. This is if the fast was broken by intercourse. But if it was broken by eating and drinking, then there is only making up the days and feeding a poor person for each day, because you were negligent and delayed until another Ramadan came. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
