What does the imam do if he realizes he is in a state of ritual impurity during the prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
One of the listeners, Ali Sa'id al-Ghamidi from al-Bahah, al-Ajady village, al-Hawzah, sent a message containing a number of questions. In one of them, he says: If the imam remembers during the prayer that he is in a state of ritual impurity, what does he do?

Answer:
He should appoint someone to complete the prayer with them, bringing forward one of the people around him who can complete the prayer with them. Praise be to Allah, this is the correct approach. He should appoint one of the righteous people around him to complete the prayer with them, just as 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) did. When he was stabbed, he brought forward 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf and prayed with them... he completed the prayer with them. If they start the prayer over from the beginning, they should bring forward someone else and start it over from the beginning, and there is no blame on them. If they wait for him, they sit and wait for him until he performs the ablution, then he returns and prays with them from the beginning of the prayer, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, the best option is for him to appoint someone so as not to burden them; he should appoint someone to complete the prayer with them. Praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.

The presenter: As for him, does he repeat the prayer from the beginning?

The Shaykh: As for him, he repeats it, he repeats... he performs the ablution and repeats it. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
