The Recommendation to Delay the Time of the Isha Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The first message in this episode is one that reached the program from Buraydah, al-Salmiyyah district, sent by one of the sisters from there, identified as (A. M. A). Her question reads: I heard that it is recommended to delay the time of the Isha prayer for men, so is that permissible for women?

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
Yes, it is recommended for men and women to delay the 'Isha' prayer; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he delayed it one night until about a third of the night, said:
It is indeed its time, were it not that it would be difficult for my Ummahإنه لوقتها لولا أن شق على أمتي
(peace and blessings be upon him). So if it is easy to delay it without hardship, that is better. If the people of a village or a group on a journey delay it until a third of the night, as that is more comfortable for them, there is nothing wrong with it; in fact, it is better. However, it is not permissible to delay it after the final half of the night; because the end of the 'Isha' time is determined by the half of the night, meaning the optional limit is the half of the night, as in the hadith of 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
the, time of the night prayer (lasts) by midnightوقت العشاء إلى نصف الليل
Sahih Muslim 612b
As for if delaying it may be difficult for some people, then what is prescribed is to hasten it; for this reason Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would hasten the 'Isha' prayer when he saw them gathering, and delay it when he saw them slowing down." And Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recommend delaying the 'Isha' prayer."
In summary: delaying it is better if that is possible without hardship, but it is not permissible to delay it past the middle of the night; rather, the limit is the middle of the night. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
