If a man breaks his fast during voluntary fasting, is it recommended for him to make up that day?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Making up voluntary fasts, do you see it as recommended?

The Shaykh : Making up what?

The questioner : Making up voluntary fasts, meaning the fast of the one who fasts voluntarily.

The Shaykh : Except... making up voluntary fasts, because the door of voluntary acts is open. What does making up mean? What, for example, does he want to make up? For instance?

The questioner : I referred to the hadith from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: "I prepared food for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he and his companions came to me. When the food was placed, a man from among them said: 'I am fasting.' He (peace be upon him) said:
Your brother invited you and made an effort for you, then he said: Break your fast and fast in its place one day if you wish. دَعَاكم أخوكم وتكلَّفَ لكم ، ثم قال : أفطر وصُمْ مكانه يومًا إن شئت
." Al-Bayhaqi narrated it with a good chain.

The Shaykh : If you wish, its meaning is that it is a voluntary act.

The questioner : Meaning it is permissible.

The Shaykh : It is permissible. Excuse us.

The questioner : There is another route.

The Shaykh : Where is it? Is it authentic?
