Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Umm Muhammad from Riyadh says in her first question: Your Eminence! It is said by some people that religion is in the heart. Is this statement correct?
Answer:
Its origin is in the heart, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: meaning: it is in the heart. And if the heart is sound, the body is sound, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Mishkat al-Masabih 2762 This is correct. When the heart is sound and Allah fills it with taqwa (mindfulness of Allah) and fear of Allah, the body becomes upright, and the limbs become upright in obedience to Allah. And when the heart becomes corrupt with hypocrisy, disbelief, and misguidance, the limbs become corrupt and follow it.
So the foundation is the heart. When Allah rectifies it and commands it with taqwa (mindfulness of Allah), the limbs submit to the obedience of Allah and His Messenger, and refrain from the prohibitions of Allah. And when the heart becomes corrupt with disbelief, hypocrisy, open sinfulness, and following desires, the limbs submit to its evil deeds. There is no power and no strength except with Allah.

Answer:
Its origin is in the heart, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Taqwa (mindfulness of Allah) is here, and he pointed to his chest
التقوى هاهنا، وأشار إلى صدرهIn the body there is a piece of flesh, and the whole body is sound if it is sound, but the whole body is corrupt if it is corrupt.
ألا وإن في الجسد مضغة، إذا صلحت صلح سائر الجسد، وإذا فسدت فسد الجسد كلهSo the foundation is the heart.
