The Criterion for Forbidding Evil with the Heart

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Does a man who sees an evil and forbids it with his heart, then remains silent about it, fall among those whom Allah will save from evil on the Day of Resurrection?
The one who sees an evil and hates it with his heart, but is unable to forbid it with his tongue, is excused, and this is sufficient. However, if he forbids it with his heart, it is not permissible for him to remain with those who are committing it;For Allah the Exalted said:
And it has already come down to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah [recited], they are denied [by them] and ridiculed; so do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, you would then be like themوَقَدْ نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الْكِتَابِ أَنْ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ يُكْفَرُ بِهَا وَيُسْتَهْزَأُ بِهَا فَلا تَقْعُدُوا مَعَهُمْ حَتَّى يَخُوضُوا فِي حَدِيثٍ غَيْرِهِ إِنَّكُمْ إِذاً مِثْلُهُمْ
[al-Nisa: 140].
and what some ignorant people do, which is to remain with the people of evil who commit evil in front of them, such as smoking, or playing forbidden games,And he says: I hate this with my heart,We say: this is not sufficient. If you truly hate it with your heart, your heart will be repelled by it, and if the heart is repelled, the limbs will also be repelled by it;Because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: (And know that in the body there is a morsel of flesh, if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt; and that is the heart) So based on this, we say: If you hate it with your heart and are unable to forbid it with your tongue, it is obligatory for you to leave the place. And if you are able to forbid it with your tongue, it is obligatory for you to do so, otherwise you will be sinful.
