Question:
This is a caller to the program who says, “O His Eminence the Shaykh! In the case of someone for whom it is feared that they will be afflicted by the evil eye, is it sufficient to seek refuge only with the Mu’awwidhat in such a case, to be protected by them?”

Answer:
Yes, if he is recited to
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and the two Mu'awwidhat, that is sufficient. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite over al-Hasan and al-Husayn and seek protection for them with the perfect words of Allah from every devil and poisonous creature and from every evil eye. So if he is recited to them
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and the two Mu'awwidhat, and it is recited to them:
I seek refuge for both of you in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every poisonous thing and from the evil eye which influencesأعيذكم بكلمات الله التامة من كل شيطان وهامة ومن كل عين لامة
Sunan Abi Dawud 4737Sahih (Al-Albani)
whether one person or a group, all of this is good.
