The evil eye is a reality, so how does a person protect himself from it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The evil eye is a reality, so how does a person protect himself from it, O honorable Shaykh?

The Shaykh : The evil eye is a reality, and there is no doubt about it, but there are things that protect one from it, both preventive and curative. As for the preventive measures, a person should increase in the daily recitations that came in the Sunnah, such as reciting the Verse of the Throne, the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah, and
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak قل أعوذ برب الفلق
[Al-Falaq 113:1]
and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, قل أعوذ برب الناس
[An-Nas 114:1]
.
Among them, if he sees someone whose evil eye he fears, he says
O Allah, we make Thee our shield against them, and take refuge in Thee from their evils. اللهم إنا نجعلك في نحورهم ونعوذ بك من شرورهم
Sunan Abi Dawud 1537Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
And among them, if a person is one of those who harms people with their evil eye, meaning if he is one who has the evil eye, then when he sees something he likes, he should bless it by saying "May Allah bless you" and the like.
As for treating the evil eye after it has occurred, which is its removal, there are causes for this, including reciting over the person afflicted by the evil eye. Also, the one who cast the evil eye should be ordered to perform wudu', and some of the water that splashes from his wudu' should be taken and poured over the afflicted person, and he should drink from it. This is among the causes for the removal of the effect of the evil eye from the afflicted person. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
