How much of the woman a suitor wishes to propose to is he permitted to see?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is permissible for the suitor to see of his prospective bride when he requests to see her?

Answer:
There is scholarly disagreement on this matter, and the safest course is that it is sufficient to see the face, the hands, and the feet. If he sees the hair, there is nothing wrong with it; we do not see any impediment, because the hair may be visible to mahrams and non-mahrams, such as the husband. The point is that this is permissible. However, if she limits it to her face, hands, and feet, there is nothing wrong with that. Even if he sees some of the hair, there is no blame on him, because it may sometimes be visible.
