The ruling on a soldier who is ordered to shave his beard

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I am a young man, not a Saudi, and I have completed my secondary education. I want to return to my country and join the military field, but one of the conditions for this field is shaving the beard. Do I have to obey them based on the saying of Allah the Exalted: and
obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among youأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْكُمْ
[Al-Nisa: 59], or what should I do? Knowing that I love this field very much.

Answer:
The verse
Obey Allah.أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ
does not contain a waw,
O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among youيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْكُمْ
[An-Nisa 4:59]
.
O questioner, if the military service is not obtained except by disobeying Allah, then do not enter it, and leave them. But if it is facilitated for you to enter it to assist in good, to enjoin what is right, to forbid what is wrong, to teach the ignorant, and to guide the lost; then you are to be thanked and rewarded. But if this is not achieved except by shaving the beard, or by leaving the prayer, or by other sins of Allah, then no,
A creature is not to be obeyed when it involves disobedience to the "Creator.”لا طاعةَ لمخلوقٍ في معصية الخالق
Mishkat al-Masabih 3696
,
Obedience is in matters which are good and universally recognized.إنما الطاعة في المعروف
Sunan Abi Dawud 2625Sahih (Al-Albani)
, so you are not required to obey them in that, and it is not permissible for you to enter into that if they force you to do it. Rather, stay away from this, and Allah will make for you a relief and an exit.
Q: And if conscription is mandatory?
If conscription is mandatory and they force you, then you are excused. But do not shave it yourself. If they shave it with their own hands, you are excused and coerced. But as for obeying them in shaving it, do not obey them.
