Are the Asha'irah among the people of the Sunnah and the community?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Are the Asha'irah among the people of the Sunnah and the community? What is the ruling in the Shari'ah regarding one who compels people to follow the methodology of the Asha'irah, especially in the universities?

Answer:
The Asha'irah hold some of the doctrine of the people of the Sunnah, and they hold some that contradicts the Sunnah. So they are with the people of the Sunnah in what they agree with the people of the Sunnah upon, and they contradict them in what they contradict them in, such as the figurative interpretation of some of the attributes. And all that is taken from them that contradicts the people of the Sunnah, they are not among the people of the Sunnah in that. So every word or principle that comes from the Asha'irah or from other than the Asha'irah that contradicts the people of the Sunnah is considered an innovation from them and an error from them, and they are not to be followed in it. And among that is the figurative interpretation—of some of the attributes. The people of the Sunnah do not interpret the attributes, but they pass them over as they came, as Malik (may Allah have mercy on him), al-Nasa'i, Rabi'ah, and others said: "Pass them over as they came, without asking how." And so the people of the Sunnah pass them over as they came; they do not distort, they do not deny the divine attributes, and they do not liken Allah to creation. Rather, they believe in what the verses and hadiths indicate, without figurative interpretation, along with believing in His saying, the Exalted:
There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
[Surat al-Shura: 11].
So satisfaction, anger, descending, rising above the Throne, mercy, hearing, seeing, and speech are all one gate. They pass them over as they came. So His hearing is not like the hearing of creation, His seeing is not like the seeing of creation, His speech is not like the speech of creation, and His anger is not like that. And so the rest of the attributes: His laughter, His satisfaction, His dislike, and so on. They are all of one gate:
There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]
,
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
[Surat al-Ikhlas: 4].
So it is upon us to pass them over as they came, and to believe in them, and not to distort, not to change, not to replace, and not to interpret. Rather, we say: They are true and established for Allah, and their meanings are true and established for Allah, but they are not of the same kind as the attributes of the created beings. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) has perfection in every aspect, and the servant has deficiency. For this reason, He, the Exalted, said:
There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]
,
Do you know of any similarity to Him?"هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُ سَمِيًّا
[Surat Maryam: 19],
So do not assert similarities to Allah
[Surat al-Nahl: 74],
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
[Al-Ikhlas 112:4]
. So He becomes angry in reality, but not like our anger. He laughs in reality, not like our laughter. He is satisfied in reality, not like our satisfaction. He hears, not like our hearing. He sees, not like our seeing, and so on. He has perfection in everything .
