What is the ruling on one who rejects the Sunnah on the claim of sufficiency with the Qur'an?

Question:
You spoke about the obligation of adhering to the Book and the Sunnah, and we found a group who are called: the Quranists, so what is our position toward them?

Answer:
As mentioned before, they are not Quranists, but they are liars, enemies of the Qur'an; because the Qur'an commands the Sunnah, and commands obedience to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and whoever rejects the Sunnah has rejected the Qur'an, and whoever disobeys the Messenger has disobeyed the Qur'an, so they are not Quranists, but they are against the Qur'an, and atheists, and misguiders, indeed disbelievers by the consensus of the scholars.
Whoever rejects the Sunnah and does not act upon it and claims that he does not act except by the Qur'an; he is a liar, he has not acted by the Qur'an, and he is a misguiding misleader, a disbeliever by the consensus of the scholars, and I have written a printed treatise on this which I named "The Obligation of Acting Upon the Sunnah".
