And every text that indicates the obligation of believing in what came in the Qur'an is an indication of the obligation of believing in what came in the Sunnah, because among what came in the Qur'an is the command

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And every text that indicates the obligation of believing in what came in the Qur'an is an indication of the obligation of believing in what came in the Sunnah" Pay attention to this principle which the Quranists have neglected. Glory be to Allah, people have divided into three groups: Quranists, Sunnists, and the people of truth.
The Quranists: They say, "We do not take except from what is in the Qur'an."
And the Sunnists: They act upon the Sunnah and strive to verify and clarify it, but they do not know the Qur'an. If you asked them about the meaning of a difficult verse, it would be hard for them to understand it. However, you would find them toiling night and day in verifying the Sunnah in terms of its chain of narration, its meaning, and its language, but they have nothing regarding the Qur'an. What is the middle path? It is caring for both the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Every text that indicates the obligation of believing in the Qur'an indicates the obligation of believing in the Sunnah. The reason for this is that among what came in the Qur'an is the command to follow the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and to refer to him in case of disagreement. Referring to him means referring to his person during his lifetime and to his Sunnah after his death. This is a matter with no doubt. So to those who say, "We do not believe except in what came in the Qur'an," we say: You have not believed in what came in the Qur'an. If you had believed in what came in the Qur'an, you would have believed in what came in the Sunnah. It is like the one who says, "We honor the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) by inventing the celebration of his birth or his battles in which he was victorious." We say: If you were honoring the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) with true honor, what would you do? You would follow him and not do this. Because if you do this and invent in his Shari'ah what is not part of his Shari'ah, this is aggression and this is going before Allah and His Messenger. He said: "So where is the faith in the Qur'an for one who is too proud to follow the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), as commanded in the Qur'an?" Correct. And where is the faith in the Qur'an? "And where is the faith in the Qur'an for one who does not refer disputes to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), when Allah commanded this in the Qur'an?" He said: "And where is the faith in the Messenger, whom the Qur'an commanded us to believe in, for one who does not accept what came in his Sunnah?" That is the expression in your text. What is the expression in yours?
The reader: "And where is the faith in the Messenger, whom the Qur'an commanded us to believe in, for one who does not accept what came in his Sunnah".

The Shaykh : Yes. "And where is the faith in the Messenger, whom" "whom" is a description of the faith. What is it? The expression has a strong ambiguity.
"And where is the faith in the Messenger, whom the Qur'an commanded us to believe in" "whom" is a description of the faith. It means: Where is the faith in the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), which the Qur'an commanded us to believe in, for one who does not accept what came in his Sunnah? Correct. Where is the faith if he does not accept what came in the Sunnah of the Messenger? Where is the faith in the Qur'an, and the Qur'an has commanded following him? "And Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things ونزلنا عليك الكتاب تبياناً لكل شيء
[An-Nahl 16:89]
And it is known that the explanation of many matters of the Shari'ah, both theoretical and practical, came through the Sunnah, so their explanation through the Sunnah is part of the explanation of the Qur'an"
This is also a good proof. "And We have sent down to you the Book as an explanation of everything." If someone said, "The Qur'an does not contain an explanation of the number of rak'ahs, nor the number of bowings in each rak'ah, nor the number of rawatib, and the like, so how can it be an explanation of everything?" The answer is: What has been explained by the Sunnah is explained by the Qur'an, because Allah the Exalted commanded us to follow the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). This is a clear and strong proof. Then he said.
