Ruling on reading from the mushaf during prayer and making that a habit

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister says: What is your opinion of my following method? I complete the recitation of the Qur'an through prayer, so for example, I take the Qur'an in my hand and read from it, and by this method I complete the recitation of the Qur'an in two months. Is my method correct? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
What I see is to leave that off; because some of the scholars of knowledge hold that reading from the mushaf invalidates the prayer, so it is not permissible for you to do that. Rather, you should recite what is easy from memory in the obligatory prayers, and not read from the mushaf; because this is more humble for the heart and more gathering of the heart for the recitation. So recite what is easy in your prayer; in the midday, afternoon, sunset, and night prayers, the middle of the final section of the Qur'an, and let the midday prayer be longer, such as:
Has there come to you the news of the Overwhelming?
,
Recite in the name of your Lord
[Al-'Alaq 96:1]
,
By the sky containing great stars
[Al-Buruj 85:1]
,
Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High,
[Al-A'la 87:1]
,
And the dawn
.. and the like.
And let the midday prayer be longer, and the sunset prayer is usually shorter, and if you lengthen it in the sunset prayer at some times, that is also better; because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) lengthened it at some times, and shortened it (peace and blessings be upon him). And in the dawn prayer, it is longer than that, such as reciting:
About what are they asking one another?
and
Has there not come upon man a period of time?
, and
Al-Muzzammil
, and
Al-Muddaththir
,
Qق
,
The Hour has drawn near
in the dawn prayer, because: the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lengthen in it (peace and blessings be upon him), and he used to recite in it from sixty to one hundred verses. And you recite from memory, and you should strive to memorize the final section of the Qur'an so that you can use it to help you with the recitation. The final section begins with (Qaf), so I advise you to strive to memorize the final section, from (Qaf) to the end of the Qur'an, so that you can read with this in your prayer.
And as for the mushaf, what I advise you is to leave that off, except in the tarawih and the standing prayer of Ramadan. If you lengthen it, there is no harm in reading from the mushaf. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to have her slave lead her in prayer from the mushaf in Ramadan, so there is no harm in that. As for the obligatory prayers, I advise you and I advise others that the recitation be from memory, from what Allah has made easy of the Qur'an.
And I advise everyone to memorize the final section of the Qur'an from (Qaf) to its end. I advise men and women, young men and young women. I advise everyone to memorize the final section at least; because it helps with the recitation in prayer. And whoever is able to memorize more than that, or to memorize the whole Qur'an, that is good upon good and a great blessing. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
