What is the remedy for the weakness of resolve in this age?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We have the time available, but our resolve is weak, whereas the Salaf were the exact opposite of us; they had resolve, but their time was limited, and they did not have means of rapid transportation or rapid research. So what is the cause of the weakness of resolve? And how do we treat this weakness? May Allah reward you.

Answer:
Time is time, but the difference in faith, the difference in hearts, and the multitude of distractions today, and the causes of danger for us today are distractions that the predecessors did not have, and evils that the predecessors did not have, are prepared for the person through many ways. So there must be determination and rolling up of sleeves, there must be continuous activity, and there must be asking Allah for guidance and success, for the servant is wretched and weak except by the success of Allah.
And the Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
cherish that which gives you benefit (in the Hereafter) and seek help from Allahاحرص على ما ينفعك، واستعن بالله
Sahih Muslim 2664
Narrated by Muslim in his "Sahih" and may Allah have mercy on him.
And from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said:
A strong believer is better and is more lovable to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone, (but) cherish that which gives you benefit (in the Hereafter) and seek help from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything (in the form of trouble) comes to you, don't say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so, but say: Allah did that what He had ordained to do and your" if" opens the (gate) for the Satan.
Sahih Muslim 2664
.
So you must be serious and active, and account for your self, and utilize time, for time is night and day, just as the predecessors had night and day, but the matter lies in the presence of blessing and success, and in staying away from the distractions that occupy his heart, and occupy the body, and occupy the limbs.
So you must stay away from the causes of evil, and beware of the causes of evil, and preserve time in the obedience of Allah, along with asking Allah for success and guidance. Do not be negligent, for the servant is wretched; if he is left between himself and his Shaytan and his soul that commands evil, he will perish. So there must be asking Allah, supplicating to Allah, and seeking help from Allah to help you in His obedience and His remembrance, and to help you against the evil of your self, your desire, and your Shaytan, and to preserve your time for you.
So seek help from Allah, and be sincere, and be glad with good, for whenever you are sincere with Allah and fear Him, He will help you, (Exalted and Majestic is He), as He said, the Exalted:
And if you are patient and fear Allah, their plot will not harm you at allوَإِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا
[Al-Imran: 120], and Shaytan is among the enemies, so whoever is patient in the obedience of Allah, and leaves the prohibitions of Allah, and fears Allah; his enemy will not harm him, Allah will suffice him against the evil of his enemy.
May Allah grant everyone success and guidance, and preserve our religion and yours, and cause us all to die as Muslims, and extend the life of this university with good, and grant success to those in charge of it with all good.
And may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and his Companions.
