The Meaning of the Hadith: (If it is sound, then the rest of his deeds will be sound...)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner is Shihata from Riyadh. He sent a set of questions, saying: May Allah preserve you. In my question, I ask and say: The first thing a servant is asked about on the Day of Resurrection is the prayer; if it is sound, then his deeds will be sound. What is meant by the soundness of the prayer?

Answer:
This came in the hadith about him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
the first deed by which a servant will be called to account on the Day of Resurrection is his Salat. If it is complete, he is successful and saved, but if it is defective, he has failed and lostأول ما يحاسب العبد من عمله صلاته؛ فإن صلحت فقد أفلح وأنجح، وإن فسدت فقد خاب وخسر
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 413Sahih (Darussalam)
Meaning: If his prayer is valid and upright, and Allah accepts it from him; then that is among the causes for the acceptance of the rest of his deeds. And if he neglects the prayer, and the prayer is not upright; then that is among the causes for the loss of his deeds. So the prayer is like a scale for the rest of the deeds.
Therefore, the believer should strive to perfect it, complete it, and preserve it; so that no deficiency enters into it; because this is among the causes of Allah’s success for him in all his deeds thereafter. Whoever preserves it, he preserves his religion, and whoever neglects it, he is more neglectful of what is besides it. For this reason, He (Mighty and Majestic) says:
Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayerحَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى
[al-Baqarah: 238] And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If anyone keeps to it, it will be light, evidence and salvation for him on the day of resurrection; but if anyone does not keep to it, it will not be for him light, evidence, or salvation, and on the day of resurrection he will be associated with Qarun, Pharaoh, Haman, 1 and Ubayy b. We ask Allah for well-being. So preserving it and caring for it; is among the causes of Allah’s success for the soundness of all his deeds. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah preserve you.
