Ruling on administering medicine to an animal that resulted in its death

Question:
The questioner Abdullah from Makkah al-Mukarramah says in his second question: We have sheep, and a disease appeared in them, which are tumors on the outside of their bodies. So my mother applied a treatment to them, and those sheep to which we applied the treatment died, and their number was nine. She did not know that this would harm them, and she did not intend to kill them either; rather, she wanted to cure them of this disease because she heard from some people who say that this treatment cures this disease, by the permission of Allah. So my mother regretted her action with severe regret. Does she have any sin upon her, and does she have to pay an expiation?
Answer:
If the one who informed her is someone who practices medicine, then she owes nothing. But if he is from the general public, it is not permissible to treat without expertise. So she should not return to such a thing. If she pays you compensation, that is a matter of precaution. If she pays you compensation, provided she is wealthy, that is a matter of precaution. And if you forgive her, may Allah reward you with good.
The presenter: May Allah preserve you.
