The Ruling on Using Perfume for One in Ihram

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a brother questioner who says: O Shaykh! What is the ruling on perfuming the head and the body while one is in ihram?

Answer:
There is nothing wrong with it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perfume his head and his body while he was in ihram. What is forbidden is the clothing; one does not perfume the clothing. However, if he applies perfume to his head or to his hair partings, there is no blame on him. As Aisha informed us about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he applied perfume to his hair partings when he entered ihram, and she saw it in his hair partings after he had entered ihram. May Allah send blessings upon him and grant him peace.
