Question:
He says: Muslim mentioned in the introduction to his Sahih the hadith of Aisha, traced back to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in which she said:
We were commanded to place people in their proper stationsأُمرنا أن ننزل الناس منازلهم
So what is the degree of authenticity of this hadith? And what is its meaning?

Answer:
This hadith has weakness in its chain of narration, but if it were authentic, its meaning would be: everyone is placed in their station. The leader of the people and the elder of the people have their station, the believer has his station, the poor beggar has his station, and the disbeliever has his station. Everyone has their station. In some narrations, it is reported that a poor man came to her asking for charity, so she gave him a mouthful or two mouthfuls of food. Then another poor man came, whose appearance showed modesty, so she ordered that he be seated in a place and given food suitable for him. When she was asked about this, she said: The Messenger commanded us to place people in their proper stations. So the meaning of the hadith is correct, even though there is weakness in its chain.
Therefore, the believer should place people in their proper stations and not treat them as if they were all the same. The leader of the people, the believer, his relatives, and others have a right, and those who go from door to door have another right. They are different categories.
