Is it permissible for girls to sing in a group?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Female students at a school event or a wedding recite poetry in a group solely to strengthen the voice, and this recitation is free from musical composition. What is the ruling on this, and is there a difference between group recitation and individual recitation?

Answer:
Recitation is good if it is good, and bad if it is bad. If it contains a call to good, reform, and mindfulness of Allah, it is like poetry.
In poetry there is wisdom.إن من الشعر حكمة
Sunan Abi Dawud 5010Sahih (Al-Albani)
If it is a recitation containing blameworthy matters, it becomes blameworthy, like blameworthy poetry. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
In poetry there is wisdom.إن من الشعر حكمة
Sunan Abi Dawud 5010Sahih (Al-Albani)
. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to listen to the poetry of Hassan, because it was poetry that called for obedience to Allah, following His Shari'ah, and believing in the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He also listened to Ibn Rawahah, Ibn Abi Awfa, Ka'b ibn Malik, and others, because they were beneficial poems.
As for poems that call for falsehood, discourage from acts of obedience, or call for obscenity, they are forbidden. Likewise, recitation is good if it is for good, and blameworthy if it is for evil.
In a group?
The Shaykh: If it is for education, where he teaches them and they all read together, there is no harm from the perspective of education. However, doing it as an act of worship is not permissible; it is not prescribed... neither in the dhikr nor in anything else. Each person should remember Allah according to his own state, without raising his voice above the other, but remembering Allah as is easy for him... As for the teacher, if he has four or five students with him until they master what he is telling them, from the perspective of education, there is no harm or blame in that.
