The famous song: "The full moon has risen over us" upon the arrival of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) — is this established?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding, O our Shaykh, the famous song upon the arrival of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to al-Madinah, "The full moon has risen over us."

The Shaykh : "The full moon has risen over us," yes.

The questioner : First: I mean, we need to respond to it from the perspective of authenticity. The second matter: a technical verification regarding the Farewell Bend, meaning, in your view, is it on the road, meaning between Makkah and Tabuk, or between Makkah and al-Madinah, meaning on the way...?

The Shaykh : As for the first, the hadith is not valid because it is mu'addal, yes, and it is from the narration of a man known as Ibn Abi 'Aishah... and between him and the Messenger are gaps, as they say. As for the Farewell Bend, as Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) verified it, there is no doubt at all about it; it is for the one coming from Tabuk to al-Madinah, and not for the one coming from Makkah. Therefore, this is another aspect indicating the invalidity of this narration, and this is what some of the contemporary scholars today call internal criticism; that is, criticism of the text.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, but this does not harm us or benefit us that there is another bend, but the Messenger (peace be upon him) did not come when he was welcomed from there, and therefore the story is not authentic, neither in chain nor in text, yes.
