What is the ruling on wagering money in some games?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Those who support football, and some of them say: If such-and-such club wins, the sacrifice is on me?

Answer:
This is not permissible, neither with money nor with sacrifices. This is not permissible; it is a wager of unknown value, it is gambling. It is not permissible, and they are not allowed to eat the sacrifice that was slaughtered for them, because this is gambling. Allah the Exalted says:
O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satanيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالْأَنْصَابُ وَالْأَزْلَامُ رِجْسٌ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ
[Al-Ma'idah: 90], and maysir is gambling, namely wagering over money, other than racing with horses, camels, or horses.
