Q 2: What is the ruling on writing the Qur'an in the form of games, for example?
A 2: Writing verses of the Qur'an in the shape of games, birds, trees, or the like, or writing it on boards and plates for decoration, or using it
as a means to promote goods — all of this is forbidden, and its doer is sinful; because of the disrespect for the Qur'an and mockery of it involved in this, and because of the degradation of it and making it liable to be thrown in places that are not fitting for it, if those things on which it is written become worn out over time or are lost when moved from one place to another. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has not commanded us to worship Him in this way. Allah revealed the Qur'an to be a reminder, a lesson, and a healing for what is in the breasts, and for people to act upon its rulings, believe in it, and recite it at night and day, thereby increasing in faith, and Allah will raise their ranks with their Lord by it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
