How to take back a divorced wife

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He divorced his wife with one divorce, and six months have passed since then. Is it permissible for him to take her back after that? What is obligatory upon him? Is taking her back forbidden, or not?

Answer:
If he divorced her with one divorce, this is called a revocable divorce. He may take her back as long as she is in the waiting period, provided that it was a single divorce with nothing preceding it, just one divorce, and he had entered into marital relations with her, sequestered himself with her, or had intercourse with her. This is called a revocable divorce, so he may take her back, even after six months, if she has not exited the waiting period because she is pregnant, or because her menstruation has been delayed and she has not had her period three times. In that case, he may take her back.
If she has menstruated three times, or if she was pregnant and has given birth, she is forbidden to him except with a new contract, meaning with a new basis, with her consent and the consent of her guardians, as if he were a stranger. If she has exited the waiting period, she is not lawful to him except through a new marriage, with its conditions that are considered valid in the Shari'ah, just like any other suitor.
As for as long as she is in the waiting period, because she is pregnant and has not given birth, or because her waiting period is based on months and she is advanced in age and does not menstruate, and the period is three months, or six months have passed but her menstruation has been delayed, such that she only gets her period once a month, for example, and the third period was delayed, and he took her back after that, there is no harm in his taking her back, as long as the third period has not ended and she has not performed the ritual bath from it.

Question: Does it count as a divorce for him?

The Shaykh: It is counted as a divorce for him, yes.
