The Ruling on Paternal Half-Sisters Through Breastfeeding

The first wife breastfed me along with her eldest child, so the brothers who came after him are also my brothers. There is a daughter from the second wife, and there is no breastfeeding relationship between me and her. The girl’s family says: This girl is also your sister, as she is a sister to your brothers through breastfeeding, and she uncovers herself in front of me in her family’s home. She is now married, but her husband does not allow her to enter in front of me. What is the correct solution: the words of her family, or the words of her husband? Answer: If a person is breastfed by a man’s wife with a complete breastfeeding, five times or more, while he is within the two-year period, then he becomes his son, and a brother to all his children from the breastfeeding wife, and from the other wives. His children from the breastfeeding wife are full siblings through breastfeeding, and his children from the other wives are paternal half-siblings through breastfeeding. So this woman from the second wife is your sister through breastfeeding, but from the side of your father, like your sister by blood. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Just as the daughter of your father from a wife other than your mother is your sister through breastfeeding, so the daughter of the person whose wife breastfed you, from another wife, is your sister through breastfeeding, from the side of the father.
